Census Key Resources

New educational and outreach materials and other tools are regularly emerging, and we will continue to post links and downloads of more materials as they become available. On this page we are sharing resources from a variety of groups and institutions working towards a more inclusive Census. Numerous materials and resources are available in various languages to help expand outreach to immigrant communities.

NNIRR’S CENSUS 2020 Toolkit: Grassroots Tools for Immigrant Inclusion

Including a Call to Action organizational sign-on letter and individual petition to suspend immigration enforcement during the Census outreach period, key messages, and a guide to organizing city resolutions to promote immigrant inclusion in Census 2020.

Census Counts: Census Counts has community based organizations in more than 30 states and is a collaborative campaign with 15 national partners. Census Counts provides resources and information sharing in the form of webinars, an extensive digital library, technology FAQs regarding cybersecurity, data security, and operations, and a host of digital organizing tools.

NALEO: The National Association of Latino Elected and Appointed Officials (NALEO) Educational Fund is a non-profit organization that facilitates Latino participation in the American political process. NAELO offers countless resources including policy briefs, state fact sheets, press releases, elected official resources, community resources, webinars and information about upcoming and past events.

Asian Americans Advancing Justice (AAJC): Asian Americans Advancing Justice is a national affiliation that provides programs and services to the AAPI community and advocates for their civil and human rights. AAJC has extensive resources pertaining to Census 2020, including factsheets in multiple Asian languages, related publications, and related news.

Count Us In 2020: Count Us In 2020 is an extension of AAJC. This site offers factsheets on the citizenship question in 16 different languages. Additionally, Count US in 2020 provides national and state Census fact sheets as well as a series of informative webinars.

HTC 2020: HTC 2020 is an interactive map that shows where Hard-To-Count Populations are located in the U.S. The goal of this map is to provide organizations and communities with a tool for Get Out the Count campaigns seeking a fair an accurate Census.

United States Census Bureau: The Census Bureau offers many resources regarding Census 2020 such as toolkits, factsheets, ideation workshops, a Response Outreach Area Mapper (ROAM), and infographics.
